The Power of Plants and Fungi
Fungi preceded plants and animals and share much of their DNA with these two kingdoms. We have only discovered and named a small fraction of fungi species.
After having practiced in a western medical model specializing in women’s health for decades, I subsequently studied the medicinal benefits of both the psychoactive and non-psychoactive cannabinoids and brought these into practice 15 years ago. Moving beyond the amazing benefits of the cannabis plant, I embarked on a journey into the magical world of mushrooms. In addition to having been inspired by The Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Science Conference in Denver, I’ve had the good fortune to work aside Jeremy Widmann, PhD. at Do Good Ranch. The ranch, located on the western slope of Colorado treats veterans, first responders and others who suffer from PTSD with a “Hero’s Dose” of psilocybin.
Indigenous cultures from around the world have been utilizing plant and fungi medicines for millennia. Although the studies are bountiful, what we see clinically often precedes the studies. This is what I would call being Clinically Informed.
